Belief to Unbelief
Weird title. I know. A conversation with a friend yesterday caused me to wonder how we can go from a vibrant, alive and active belief in Christ’s daily activity to a cynical, dry place of unbelief as we face trials. A loss of belief not for salvation; but in the work of sanctification. Romans 5:1-11… I’m thinking belief fades to unbelief as we stop rejoicing in our sufferings. Your thoughts?
Perspective Check
Having breakfast with the family this morning, my 10 year old was caught in a war of words with his younger brother. I chimed in about how important it is to overlook an offense. My 10 year old, without missing a beat, quipped “I am looking it over and he offended me!”
It was in that moment I realized the fine line we walk and the choices we make based on the slightest of perspective. Proverbs 19:11 encourages us to overlook an offense; our inclination however is to look the offense over. Let’s make sure we’re not pulling out a magnifying glass when offended… extend grace and choose to overlook the offense.
